Foundation of Perdiag as a specialist for advertising with glass slides

The two cinema marketers Digital Cinefil and Central Films Cefi merge to form CineCom & Media.

1999
The French company Mediavision takes over the marketing of Ciné Village Balexert and enters Switzerland as a new advertising marketer.

2000
The Belgian company RMB International (RMBI) acquires a majority stake in CineCom & Media, the company name is changed to RMB Switzerland.

2001
Perdiag AG becomes RMB Perdiag AG and part of RMB Switzerland.

2002
Former Plakanda owner Peter Gmür acquires 100 per cent of the cinema and TV marketers RMB Switzerland and RMB Austria through his company Peter Gmür Beteiligungen AG.

RMB Switzerland changes its name to cinecom ag.

2004
Cinecom takes over Mediavision and all cinema contracts in French-speaking Switzerland.

Cinecom is bought by PubliGroupe.

2005
On 30 June 2005, advertising on the screens in 250 cinemas goes digital. Over the next 2 years, more than 500 screens will be digitised. The adverts will be distributed via the Internet and played automatically. Films will continue to be shown on 35mm film.

Cinecom AG is renamed Publicitas Cinecom AG.

WerbeWeischer enters the Swiss market.

2015
WerbeWeischer Schweiz acquires Publicitas Cinecom on 21 September 2015 and assumes all obligations to customers and employees.

2017
weischerPLAY is launched as a new, DCI-compatible distribution system for advertising on the big screen. It has interfaces with all common theatre management systems (TMS) and enables fully automated delivery of playlists and advertising films in DCP format to cinemas.

WerbeWeischer is now called Weischer.Cinema. ‘The ‘Cinema’ in the name now says what we stand for: Cinema.’

September: Weischer.Cinema Schweiz is climate-neutral for the first time and receives the PRIMAKLIMA seal of approval

October: Weischer.Cinema Switzerland publishes its first sustainability report together with the parent company in Germany and the branch in Austria.
